Rashid Sserumaga

Gender: Male

Talent Area: Traditional dancer, multi-instrumentalist (drummer)

Family Background

Rashid was born in Kikyuusa Village, Luweero District (Central Uganda). He is the third of five siblings in a family of seven. His father works as a boda-boda rider, and his mother is a housewife. The family’s modest income often fell short of covering school fees and basic needs. Rashid’s education was repeatedly disrupted, as he was frequently sent home for unpaid school requirements.

Although he initially joined a local performing arts troupe in hopes of securing school support, the troupe itself struggled financially. This left Rashid unable to consistently attend school or focus on his studies.

How Rockies Organization Stepped In

In 2021, Rashid’s family approached Rockies Organization, seeking help for his education and talent development. Rockies enrolled him as a beneficiary, and he was admitted to Twinlight Children’s Centre and currently, he is in Primary Four. With Rockies’ support, Rashid can now focus on his studies and artistic growth without the constant worry of school fees.

His energy, rhythm, and stage presence consistently captivate audiences.
